Caring Friends - A mid - Norfolk Cancer Charity
We offer Caring, Friendship & Support
Who are we?
We are a group of volunteers whose aim is to look after the needs of those touched by Cancer. We meet in friendship offering support with volunteers who have befriending and support training guidance.
A volunteer can make the difference to a client through simply talking out their problems with them. This can make the difference between battling a problem alone and making the problem easier to cope with.
We raise funds. These are needed for assisting with care in the home, therapies like Reiki, reflexology and we can also accompany clients to hospital appointments to provide moral support if required. We come to your your house, make you a cuppa, sit with you while your carer does the shopping. All our volunteers are fully checked so you can be completely confident in our care.
We hold coffee mornings, monthly social meetings, outings, Bingo, Craft stalls.
We meet at The Conference Room in The Romany Rye (Wetherspoons) in Church Street, Dereham, every Friday 10.30 till 2.
We are also proud to be supporting Denver Clinton who was diagnosed in May 2018 with a rare childrens cancer, Neuroblastoma. He has two bigger brothers and a sister. We have donated toys for him as he loves fire engines and along with The Railway Tavern in Dereham and Solving Kids Cancers we are raising funds to help with treatments in future which may not be available on the NHS.
